With the 2022 FIFA World Cup now officially just one month away, we figured this was the opportune time to take a closer look at the kits we’ll see on pitch in Qatar.

Argentina

Led by Messi in what will be his final World Cup, Argentina stick with the iconic baby blue-and-white striped home jersey. Navy blue details round out this timeless shirt.

The 2022 away jersey is inspired by the nation’s pride, with purple tones representing gender equality. A fiery graphic is printed on the front resembling the flag’s Sun of May.

Mexico

Suiting up at an eighth consecutive World Cup, Mexico’s home jersey features a feathered pattern resembling the headdress of Quetzalcoatl, an Aztec deity who defines strength and mental fortitude.

The nation pays tribute to its ancient civilizations with the away kit, designed using Mixtec art that embodies the spirit of Mexico. Quetzalcoatl’s serpent body is pictured on the inside collar.

United States

The 2022 USA collection is a nod to the country’s deep sporting culture, with both tops marked by an enlarged center crest akin to basketball uniforms and Swoosh logos on the sleeve similar to American football jerseys.

Nike celebrates the youth and hunger of the current USMNT squad with a bold ice-dyed pattern on the away jersey.

England

EURO 2020 finalists England step out in clean white and red kits highlighting the team’s youthful spirit and fight. Blue color gradients and a distorted 3 Lions image and angled claw marks appear on the home shirt.

The ‘Challenge Red’ away jersey brings back a 90s-inspired collar — a signature of the English team — which reveals a knitted 3 Lions graphic when it is popped.

Germany

Suiting up as one of the most successful teams in the history of the World Cup, Germany will be sporting home jerseys that feature a white base with a black vertical center stripe, while the colors of the German flag play through the collar, down the sides and round the hem.

Their away jerseys feature an abstract, dynamic take on the team’s identity. A blurry remix of the letter “D” (as in Deutschland), created using the colors of the German flag, represents the dynamic style of the play from the current squad.

Brazil

Brazil, the winningest nation in the history of the World Cup, looks to wear a collection jerseys featuring graphics that represent an iconic symbol of Brazil: the jaguar. The use of the jaguar print signifies the Brazil National Football Team’s grit, spirit, and resilience.

The home jerseys arrive in the iconic yellow and green design, while the away comes in a vibrant blue with yellow and green accents.

Belgium

Heavily inspired by Belgium’s “Red Devils” nickname, their home jerseys arrive in their traditional color combination with a red base accented with black sleeves that feature a flame design.

A different take on the nation’s culture, the away kit is inspired by the famous fireworks display at Tomorrowland, an iconic music festival in Belgium. A colorful “LOVE” signoff on the back brings a meaningful message to the biggest stage.

Portugal

Expected to be his last World Cup, Ronaldo and Portugal will be arriving in a collection that is heavily inspired by the nation’s flag and culture.

The home jersey signifies Portugal’s national flag. The top half comes in red and the bottom half in green, divided by a diagonal line to resemble a jersey wrapping around the players. Their away kit arrives with a horizontal stripe across the front in Portugal’s iconic red and green over a “Sail White” base that is sure to make them stand out.

Spain

During the World Cup, La Roja will be sporting home jerseys that are true representation of their home nation, featuring the country’s iconic red color.

The team’s away kit boasts a more abstract approach; they are inspired by the art deco-style of the 1982 World Cup, a tournament for which Spain was a host.

France

Last but certainly not least, the reigning World Cup victors Les Bleus will be rocking a traditional home kit that features a navy blue base with golden accents to represent football royalty.

France’s away kits, however, feature a more modern and graphic design. They will be carrying pieces of home when they sport their away jerseys, as they will feature iconic French landmarks seen in graphics across the shirt.
