Nike and Inter Celebrate 20 Years

This season marks a milestone in the sponsorship between Nike and Inter Milan. 2018/19 marks the 20th year that Nike has been the official kit supplier for the Italian club, and to celebrate, a special edition mashup kit has been released.
You may remember a similar jersey was released in November of last year to commemorate a two decade-long partnership between Nike and Barcelona. This top adopts the same approach, combining sections of ten iconic Inter shirts into one stunning design.
Such a feat was not simple to accomplish, according to Nike’ Senior design director Pete Hoppins. “Some of these are synonymous with great victories, while others are fan favorites. The real challenge was to get all the different striped patterns to work cohesively.”
Hoppins goes on to explain the significance of integrating the swatches form years past. “It’s a jersey that stirs the memory,” he notes. “Each different pattern makes you think of favorite players, important matches and special seasons.”
With countless legends of the game pulling on the famous black and blue stripes of Inter, including Ronaldo Nazario and Javier Zanetti, the Nike x Inter 20th Anniversary Jersey is bound to resonate with passionate supporters.
The shirt is set to be worn by Inter in the upcoming derby against AC Milan on March 17. However, it is available for purchase now right here at WeGotSoccer.
