Today, Nike and Club América have announced a new line of clothing ahead of the Mexico City derby between Las Águilas and Pumas taking place this evening in Carson, CA.
The Las Águilas x Los Angeles collection, released in celebration of the club’s 105th anniversary, is designed to recognize the passionate support from its fans living in the United States. Each piece is inspired by the urban art and cultural expression that has become synonomous with Los Angeles. Research conducted by Nike revealed that 90% of Mexican-American soccer fans support a Mexican team, 27% of whom side with Club América — a total of 6 million people.
On pitch tonight, Club América will debut the LAxLA prematch jersey, a black top featuring pattern of graffiti-like text with key phrases associated with the collaboration. The prematch top will be available in adult (both men’s and women’s) as well as youth sizes.
Other items included in this lifestyle line include hoodies, short and long sleeve tees, shorts and a jacket.
